Our Programs

Mental Health Awareness

Cape Verdean Women United collaborates with community partners to offer Mental Health Awareness and Educational Forums. With this initiative, our goal is to reduce stigma and bring resources and information, in various languages to those in need. With access to culturally appropriate information and resources, people are more likely to engage in services.

Violence Prevention Education

With our organization's mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for addressing the very important issue of violence prevention in the community.  The Raising a City of Champions (RaCC) program is designed and adapted just for that. Through the program, our team works with parents and children to tackle the problems of violence in our city and how to stay safe.

Community Support Program

The CSP Program is dedicated to empowering individuals and families by addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term stability. Our services include temporary financial support to help families cover essential expenses such as food, housing, utilities, and clothing. Additionally, we provide financial assistance for ESL classes, RMV fees, and tuition costs for education and job training programs.

International Missions

At CVWU we extend our commitment to our mission to help those most in need in Cape Verde with our oral health mission trips. From 2018 to 2024, we have been able to help over 3,400 youth and families receive free oral health care services, food, and other basic needs through our overseas program.
