Cape Verdean Women United (CVWU)’s commitment to health, wellness, and equity extends beyond our local community to Cabo Verde. Through our International Outreach and Relief Program, CVWU partners with local organizations, providers, and community leaders to support individuals and families through health education, access to care, and humanitarian assistance.

Our international work has included dental outreach, wellness education, and community-based relief efforts designed to address both immediate needs and long-term well-being. These initiatives are guided by cultural respect, local collaboration, and a focus on sustainability, ensuring that support is responsive to community priorities and strengths.

CVWU’s outreach efforts aim to reduce barriers to care, increase access to essential health information and services, and promote community resilience. Whether responding to urgent needs or supporting preventive education, our work is grounded in the belief that equitable access to care and knowledge is essential to healthy communities.

Looking ahead, CVWU is exploring the possibility of a child and family sponsorship approach that would allow us to provide direct, culturally respectful support to families in Cabo Verde. This idea is in an early, exploratory phase and will be shaped in close collaboration with local partners to ensure it reflects community-identified needs and prioritizes dignity, transparency, and sustainability.
