Healthy Relationships
The Healthy Relationships Program equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build safe, respectful, and supportive relationships. Grounded in prevention and youth empowerment, the program helps participants recognize early warning signs of unhealthy or unsafe dating relationships while strengthening protective factors that reduce the risk of youth dating violence.

Delivered by trained, community-based facilitators, the program centers cultural awareness, lived experience, and strong local connections. Facilitators create safe, affirming spaces where young people feel comfortable engaging in honest conversations, asking questions, and reflecting on their own experiences. This trusted approach supports meaningful learning and encourages youth to take an active role in their personal growth and well-being.

The program uses an evidence-based, six-session curriculum that is interactive, age-appropriate, and responsive to the realities young people face. Core topics include recognizing red flags and healthy boundaries, developing positive and respectful communication skills, building emotional awareness and self-regulation, exploring gender roles and cultural influences in relationships, and learning how to safely seek help or support peers who may be experiencing harm.

A defining feature of the program is the youth-led impact project. Each cohort applies what they’ve learned by designing and completing a project that raises awareness and promotes healthy relationship norms within their school or community. These projects reinforce leadership, collaboration, and advocacy skills while amplifying youth voice.

By combining education, reflection, and action, the Healthy Relationships Program builds trust, empowers young people to advocate for themselves and others, and strengthens the network of support around them. With research showing that one in three adolescents experiences dating abuse—and that harmful behaviors often begin between the ages of 12 and 16—early, culturally responsive prevention is essential.
The Healthy Relationships Program is available in schools and community-based settings. If you or someone you know is interested in participating or partnering, we encourage you to contact us to learn more.
