Program Goal: To offer culturally appropriate educational workshops to parents on youth trauma and violence prevention
The RaCC program is an 8 week workshop that will assists parents to do the following:
identify adaptive strategies for self-care and the care of their children in a violent environment
obtain an increased awareness of the impact that being exposed to violence has for them and their children
provide appropriate structure for their children
enhance their communication with their children
*This program was adapted from the, "Supporting Urban Residents to be Violence-Free in a Violent Environment” (SURVIVE) program. Thanks to a generous grant we received from Good Samaritan Medical Center Criolas Unidas was able to provide this workshop to parents at The Adult Learning Center in Brockton and look forward to providing it to other members of our community in the future!
